Paper Pumpkin January 2015

My Paper Pumpkin for January is here. Yay! I have so much fun with these kits. There are so many possibilities.

This month's kit is all about sharing love and treats.

One of the things I love about Paper Pumpkin is that you can use it as it is designed or use items in
the kit for creations of your own.

Here are some ideas for using this month's Paper Pumpkin for cards and other treats. Even a home décor idea.

Here is a Valentine Tree arching over the treats.

The decoration on the jar is exactly what appears on the treat bags in this month's instructions.
It looks really cute on jars too.

How about a jar with Hershey Kisses?

Here are the treats. I used the sentiments and Real Red ink to create banners for the cupcakes and Hershey Kiss treats.

Hugs, Kisses and Valentine Wishes is perfect for the Kiss cookies.

To finish off my creations for this month, I got a jump start on making Valentine cards. Enjoy . . .

Mixed with Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper.

You can stamp on the 7/8" Cotton Ribbon!
Looks perfect in person, a little blurry in photo.
Did you recognize the "LOVE" stamp from Paper Pumpkin 2014?

Hello Life Cards

Just wanted to share some details about the two cards I made for the Stampin' Addicts 2015 Occasions blog hop.

The first card is great for telling someone they are sweet. How about sending it along with a sweet treat?

Three colors pull this card together.  Basic Black, Real Red and Whisper White. The hearts are stamped and cut out by hand. Linen Thread connects the hearts to the Real Red bow..

Designer Series Paper:  Stacked with Love
Embossing Folder:  Happy Heart
Ribbon:  1/4" Real Red Cotton Ribbon

The second card could be used for a variety of occasions. I thought it would be perfect for the newlyweds. Lots of textures with the different laces and a little sparkle on the pink heart from Iridescent Ice. The hearts are stamped with the Dictionary Stamp and cut out using the heart framelits. A button with Linen Thread finishes out the card.

Designer Series Paper:  Stacked with Love
Laces and Ribbon:  White Jute Ribbon, Sahara Sand 7/8" Lace Trim, Venetian Crochet Trim

The Hello Life stamp set is perfect for sending lots of love to friends and family.

Gift Box Ideas

These are the treat and gift boxes I made for the last week's Stampin' Addicts blog hop.

The paper is from the Painted Blooms Designer Paper Series. This paper is brand new in the Stampin' Up! 2015 Occasions catalog.

Here is a link to the template for the curved birdhouse box.  The box is very easy to make and goes together very nicely. I used a combination of sticky tape and Tombow glue to hold everything together. Helpful tip:  don't forget to stamp on your birdhouse before you put it together.

Curved Birdhouse Template

The box with the pull top is based on the directions below. This box too goes together very nicely. One thing that I found with making the boxes is that the Kraft Cardstock works really well to make the boxes sturdy.

Pull Top Box Instructions

The small yellow and purple floral box are made using the Gift Box Punch Board. The following link has instructions for additional box sizes using this board.

Stampin' Addicts 2015 Occasions Catalog Blog Hop

http://www.stampinaddicts.com/forums/general-stampin-talk/9555-occasions-catalog-hop-january-16-2015-a.html

Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts 2015 Occasions Catalog Blog Hop.

We are featuring items from the Stampin' Up 2015 Occasions Catalog which runs from January 6 to June 2, 2015.

If you are following the hop in order, you arrived from Heidi's blog where she featured the stamp set You Plus Me.  A great stamp set for sharing sweet thoughts with others.

There are so many fun items in this catalog, it was hard to choose one to feature. I finally settled on the Hello Life stamp set because it is so versatile.

Think cards, banners, boxes, Project Life, scrapbooks, etc. You get the idea. This stamp set will take you anywhere you want to go with your creations.

Here are two ideas for cards. The stamps are perfect for Valentine's Day, Weddings and Anniversaries.

How about gift box ideas? Send treats to someone special in these cute little packages. "So Sweet" is perfect for treats and for a sentiment about the person receiving the treat. A little "Hello" is perfect for anyone.

I mentioned the stamp set would be perfect for decorating a banner. The stamp set goes along with the Hello Life Project Life décor kit. I think the stamp set worked out great on this banner.

8 of the 10 stamps in this set are on this banner!

I couldn't skip a Project Life idea. I put this one on cardstock so that my flash didn't interfere with the page protector.

This stamp set is going to be close to my desk all year long. So many possibilities . . .

Check back this week. I will have details on the projects and a link to a template for the birdhouse treat box and other tips on the boxes.

Next up on the Blog Hop is Tanya where she is featuring the stamp set Wood You Be Mine. A great set for the guys in our lives and anyone who loves the outdoors.

A complete list of Blog Hop participants is located here.

Lotus Blossom Stamp Set

Here is another card that I made for a swap.

This is a wonderful new stamp set called Lotus Blossom. It is a photopolymer stamp which means it is clear and you can see through it.  This is the perfect stamp for this type of stamping.

There are three stamps to make the layers of this flower and two different greetings.

Layer #1 - Blushing Bride Ink

Layer #2 - Crisp Cantaloupe Ink

Layers #3 - Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder

The stamp set is really easy to use and creates a beautiful flower.

Other supplies:  Blushing Bride paper, Gold Foil paper, Best Year Ever paper, Linen Thread

Sale-A-Bration Simply Wonderful

I have been swapping cards with friends and wanted to share one of the cards that I made.

The idea of a swap is that you and a group of people share your cards. I made twelve of this card and each person received one. In return, I received 12 different card ideas. One from each person in the swap. Fun, fun.

This is a stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog called Simply Wonderful. It has a really nice variety of greetings and a little flower. I used the flower to create the border.

The pretty paper strips are from the paper pack called Best Year Ever.

Easy card to make and a perfect thank you card.

Colors:  Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral, Soft Suede

Sale-A-Bration Cards

Here are the last three cards from the Stampin' Addicts blog hop.

I chose to feature the new paper in the blog hop. The paper is called Best Year Ever. The paper is so pretty. I had fun creating projects to show off the paper.

Blushing Bride is one of my favorite colors and it is one of the colors in the new paper.

Stamp Sets:

"Birthday Wishes" is from the Four You stamp set.
The dotted border is from the new stamp set Painted Petals.
The Dictionary stamp is used for the background on the Whisper White Paper.

The final touch on the card is 1/4" Cotton Ribbon in Blushing Bride.

Here is another simple card that lets the paper do the work. The Sahara Sand lace is from the new 2015 Occasions Catalog.  The greeting is from the Sale-a-Bration set Simply Wonderful. The color of the speckled paper is Calypso Coral.

One last card in Crisp Cantaloupe. The stamp set is from a Host set called "Hello There." The accent colors are Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe and Crushed Curry. The ribbon is from the Best Year Ever Accessory pack. A white button and white baker's twine and it is finished up.

Sale-A-Bration Swap Cards

Here are the details on three of the Sale-A-Bration cards from the recent Stampin' Addicts blog hop.

Tomorrow I will post the details on the other three cards.

The new paper Best Year Ever creates great backgrounds all by itself.

This is a 3x3 gift tag. I needed a gold clip and didn't have one. Solution:  I used an Essentials Hardware Clip and pushed it into Versa Mark ink pad. Then I dipped the clip in gold embossing powder and heat embossed.

Isn't the background paper gorgeous?  It so reminds me of the ocean. I used the By the Seashore stamp set. I embossed the images in gold and cut out the shapes. They are lightly sponged with a mix of colors. I added a few pearls to finish up my mini ocean.

Coastal Cabana is one of my favorite colors. I added a greeting from the Lotus Blossom stamp set.
I added a layer of Gold Foil paper as a highlight. The ribbon is from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack. The other textures are Linen Thread (love it!) and Venetian Crochet Trim (love it too!).

There you go. Three easy cards where the paper does most of  the work.  This paper is available until March 31, 2015 and is free with a $50 purchase.

Gift Box Ideas

I promised to post links for the gift box ideas from the 2015 Sale-A-Bration blog hop.

The first box has a spike bow on top. When I first saw this, I though it was beautiful. I was worried that it was too hard to make. It does take some time, but it is so worth it.

The video is in Spanish so I turned down the volume. The demonstration is excellent and easy to following without verbal instruction.

I used a 3" circle punch to make the circles. The demonstration shows using a glue stick. I used Tombow glue.

Spike Bow Video

The next box is a star box using the envelope punch board. Really easy to make and makes a fun little box for a special treat.

Star Box Tutorial

One more. I curled the paper for the top of this box. Just wanted to share a tip.

I curled the Crushed Curry paper without a problem. When I tried to do the same with the Coastal Cabana paper, it ripped and wouldn't curl. I called a friend and she suggested cutting the strips the other direction on the sheet of paper. It worked! Paper has a weave that allows curl on one length but not the other. Who knew.

So, cut one strip and try it. If it doesn't curl, turn the paper a quarter of a turn and cut again.

Yay! Curly ribbon from Designer Series Paper.

SAB 2015 Blog Hop

http://www.stampinaddicts.com/forums/general-stampin-talk/9553-sale-bration-blog-hop-january-2-2015-a.html

Welcome to the Stampin' Addicts 2015 Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop.

We are featuring items from the Stampin' Up Sale-A-Bration brochure which runs from January 6 to March 31, 2015. SAB, for short, is a special offer where you can choose a free item from the brochure with every $50 purchase.

If you are following the hop in order, you arrived from Twila's blog where she featured Best Year Ever Accessories.

I get to show off the beautiful new paper called Best Year Ever. The paper pack includes 12 different designs. Each one is beautifully designed and coordinates with the regular card stock.

I love Coastal Cabana. It reminds me of the beach and it is one of the colors in the new paper. Other colors in these cards are Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, Sahara Sand and Whisper White.

More colors in this paper collection include Calypso Coral and Soft Sky.

Pink is one of my favorite colors and Blushing Bride is in this paper too.

This paper is so pretty for any occasion. Great for cards, banners, gift boxes, scrapbooking or Project Life. I think you are going to love it.

Check back this week. I will have links on how to make the bow and the Star Box.

Next up on the Blog Hop is Mary where she is featuring Project Life Mini Card Collection.

A complete list of Blog Hop participants is located here.
